It was nice to see how fast the greedy sellers got shut down last week!

Whoa, let me put in a plug for the proletariat! Kook wrote about the "degree of difficulty" without any sense of irony apparently, because s/he didn't seem to acknowledge the degree of difficulty (i.e. little or none) experienced by those who buy items to trade to Nick for as meager a sum as possible and then hope to sell the gifts for as much as possible. Expecting those who actually do the work to minimize their profits so the buyers can maximize theirs smacks of exploitation. Nobody forces anybody to buy anything. If somebody is willing to pay what somebody else thinks is an inflated price for Nick items, it's nobody else's business. This is not an unsophisticated clientele -- and the market works marvelously to suppress prices on an easy-farm week, without any need to disparage the farmers who try to test what people are willing to pay. "Nolife spammer child." Sigh. I wonder if Kook and Mokeiro appreciate how much they sound like capitalists who invariably think they pay their workers too much for too little work. If somebody wanted to do the work and then offer the items for little or nothing, then that would seem more to fit the definition of "nolife." Feel free.

You can opt to go the original route as posted on wiki, or another option is to start out at Aurios Mine with more Kurzick faction than Luxon faction, die, and you'll rez at the shrine in the middle surrounded by outcasts and can easily run over to the spot. Maybe even get lucky with a nice outcast drop from a chest in the area as well

I rememeber this farm, there is a farm route starting from Aurios Mines in Rhea's that takes you through lots of outcast and a few Outcast bosses for their greens plus the Oni group that drops the Ungues of the Oni.

How have you guys been farming this.
I tried spirit spammer north of olafsted it worked but seemed slow due to the blocking stances on the berserker mobs and occasional knockdown

I had most of mine from my vqs, did the rest with a spirit spam build in this area, sticking with the groups of 3-4 warriors/rangers. It is not an optimal build, but it did get the job. The biggest issue was trample, but using summon spirits helped heal the spirits and that worked well enough for me. Again, it's not optimal, but it can get the job done in a pinch.

For what it's worth I picked up the 7 carvings I needed quickly just doing the first couple rooms of the Warband of Brothers mission in HM on my rit with a generic ss build. Groups are small, maybe someone knows a faster way but that worked for me.

Thanks Da Kenster.
Crafting them with wood is pretty cheap, don't buy them from the rare material trader.

I have noticed something very strange running my accounts to nic...my canthas seem to have no enemies on the way there (and no, they are NOT doing hm)...though my mule account with a level 19 canthan had enemies as well as my elonian and tyrian...its almost like nic has been set to hm for canthans even though hm is not active...(it was pretty nice since one of my toons was doing carto to have no enemies)
anyone else notice this?

If you complete the quest "an unwelcome guest" (which can only be obtained by canthan born characters), the explorable area is cleared of enemies as long as you don't start Winds of Change (or have the quest that negates Winds of Change).
